Value for a special occasion

I was looking for a special place to celebrate an anniversary without breaking the bank. I found one of their 'Seasonal Stay' packages which included dinner and breakfast. It felt like a good deal compared to booking everything separately. The Royal Suite was out of my budget, but the Luxury Manor Room I got was still really plush. I signed up for their newsletter and saw some gift voucher promotions, which I might use next time. It felt like I got good value for a high-end experience, especially with the inclusions.

Detailed stay review

I booked a 'Romantic Escape' package for two, which included a Four Poster Suite and dinner at Àclèaf. The booking process online was straightforward, and I received a confirmation email quickly. Check-in was efficient, and the staff at reception were welcoming. The suite itself was spacious and well-maintained, though the air conditioning was a bit noisy at times. We used the Gaia Spa facilities; the outdoor hot tub was a highlight, but the steam room felt a little crowded. Dinner at Àclèaf was a tasting menu with wine pairings, which was well-executed and the service was attentive. Breakfast the next morning had a good selection. Overall, a luxurious experience, though some areas of the spa could use slight updates for the price point. Parking was free and convenient.

Always a reliable choice

This was my third time staying at Boringdon Hall. I usually go for their spa breaks, and they're consistently good. This time I tried a Courtyard room, which was just as comfortable as the manor rooms I've had before. The Gaia skincare products they use in the spa are really nice, I always leave feeling refreshed. Dining at Àclèaf for dinner was excellent as usual. They maintain a high standard.

Lovely weekend away

We just had a really nice weekend at Boringdon Hall. Stayed in one of the luxury manor rooms, it felt super fancy. The Gaia Spa was great, spent a lot of time by the indoor pool. Had Afternoon Tea one day too, which was a treat. Everyone was friendly, and it was a chill vibe.

Good spa break

Booked a Gaia Spa break. The hydrotherapy pool was very relaxing. Room was nice. Check-in was smooth. Had a pleasant stay overall.

Does anyone know the dress code for Àclèaf? I want to try it out but not sure if I need to go all out fancy.

It's Michelin-starred, so definitely smart casual at least. Think like a nice shirt for guys, no trainers or ripped jeans. Ladies usually wear dresses or smart trousers.

Yeah, I wouldn't show up in flip-flops. It's a proper fancy place. Jacket not strictly required for men, but you wouldn't be out of place wearing one.

Thinking of getting a gift voucher for my mum's birthday. Are there ever any deals on the vouchers themselves, or just for what you spend them on?

R Robert 1 week ago
Sometimes around Christmas or Mother's Day they'll have promotions where if you buy a certain value, you get a little extra. But usually, it's just buying the voucher for its face value.

I've seen 'em do like, 'buy a £100 voucher, get a £10 bonus voucher' kinda thing, but it's not super common. Keep an eye out during big holiday sales.

Hey, thinking of booking a spa day, are there usually any good discounts floating around for Gaia Spa, or do you just pay full price?

J Jeff J. 3 weeks ago
They don't really do public promo codes much for the spa days, I looked around a while ago. Usually the 'discounts' are more like packages that include lunch or an extra treatment for the same price as just a basic spa day.

Yeah, I signed up for their newsletter a while back and got a little something. Or sometimes around Black Friday they have better deals on those spa break packages, not just the day passes.

Anyone know if you can bring your dog if you're staying overnight in one of the rooms? Or is it a no-pets kind of place?

M Matt Rodriguez 4 weeks ago
Pretty sure it's a no-go for pets in the main hotel. I remember checking that for my little chihuahua, and they said no. Might be different for service animals though, obvs.

Naw, my friend asked about her cat and they said no. Definitely check their site for the official policy but afaik they're strict about it.

Heard about this place but also considering Bovey Castle. Anyone been to both and can say which one they preferred for a romantic weekend?

H Hannah Robinson 5 days ago
Boringdon Hall has the Gaia Spa which is amazing for a couple's retreat, very relaxing. Food at Àclèaf is incredible. Bovey is lovely too but I felt the spa at Boringdon was a bit more modern and luxurious.

Honestly both are great. If you're really into the spa experience, Boringdon Hall edges it out. If you're more about the grounds and activities, Bovey might be better. Hard choice!
